How can I help to fix it? By asking this question you are suggesting that something is broken. Sure – The universe is broken, well – wow, so how can I fix it? Well, on your own you can play your part. But first, seek to begin fixing the things that you can in the realm where you best fit in. But let’s ask some basic questions of what you view as the problems that personally confront you?
For starters, I need to face up to some of the things that require attention in my life. In our own lives let’s firstly pay attention to our own lives –
Ask yourself these two questions: 1/ What is my walk like? 2/ What is my talk like? Im I a contradiction? You I say nice things, but then behave badly? No one wants to be called “hypocrite!” Admitting that I don’t always get it right, helps us to begin to be able to address some of the biggest inconsistencies in my life.
Now for the big crunch – “Stand Up and Be Counted!” But you may ask, “how can I make a difference?” Well at first you need to look around you and survey the scene and look at what is broken and fixing, and then ask is there anything that I can do to assist in helping to repair things?
As a Jesus-believing-Jew, since 1969 I have been involved in helping my fellow Jews, and Christians, and non-believers gain a fresh perspective on who Jesus/Yeshua is, and what he can do for them if they turn to him.

In our desire to make sense of an increasingly fractured and complex world, it requires each one of us to not just accept all that we are being told in both the main media, as well as the world-wide web with its multiple narratives that we are being confronted with constantly.

With antisemitism widely rearing its head once again – even if its Christian incarnation is no longer central to the phenomenon – it is worth thinking about its deep-rooted sources, and not merely any specific current events cause for its viral outbreak.
I will offer two main causes that when combined lead to a third central factor. Think of them as the three Ws: Wondering; Wandering; Why not me?
As Jews we continue to be exceedingly vulnerable to anti-Jewish hatred! As then, so to again in 2024 post October 2024. Hamas has opened the floodgates of hatred against Jewish people world-wide.
That was the heart of the problem of German Jewry: It was so much a part of German society that the Nazi blow hit it from within. Until 1938 my parents never thought of leaving Germany. “There’s no way the Germans we live with will continue to do these things. It’s only an episode.” That was the atmosphere. It was also the atmosphere on Kristallnacht. They couldn’t comprehend it. It came as a blow. I remember my mother standing pale and crying… I remember her phoning her gentile friends – she had more gentile friends than Jewish friends – No answer. No one answered her.

St. John Climacus is honored by the Church as a great ascetic and as the author of a remarkable work entitled, The Ladder of Divine Ascent, and therefore he has been named “Climacus,” or “of the Ladder.” In THE LADDER Saint John describes the ascent toward spiritual perfection, which is essential for anyone who wishes to save his soul. It is a written account of his thoughts, based on the collected wisdom of many wise ascetics, and on his own spiritual experience. The book is a great help on the path to truth and virtue. The steps of THE LADDER proceed gradually from strength to strength on the path of perfection. The summit is not reached suddenly, but gradually, as the Savior says: “The Kingdom of Heaven suffers violence, and the violent take it by force” (Mt.11:12).
